Program, 545 – A powerful defense against contagious disease.
Guests: Beverly Goldsmith, Jeremy Carper, Channing Walker
Be inspired. Be strengthened. Listen to the program
It was November 5, 2005 during the time of the Avian or bird flu epidemic. The Christian Science Sentinel invited me to share spiritual ideas and my own healing experience in defeating fear of disease and relying on God as a sure and a powerful defense against contagious disease.
What I shared back then on Sentinel Radio, is still highly relevant and practical today. Protection and healing with regard to the different strains of COVID 19 is possible to experience right now in 2022.
The program notes stated, “News of contagious disease can arouse a lot of fear. Whether the threat is close to us or distant, is there a sure defense against contagion? Can we safely rely on the power of God to stop, and even prevent it? Many have found through first-hand experience that turning to God for help in the face of threats to one’s health is more than just wishful thinking. It’s a highly practical course of action that can provide powerful protection from disease, as well as clear-cut healing. And they’re confident that appealing to that same divine power can counteract the threat of disease on a wider scale.”
I hope you will take a moment to listen to the program A powerful defense against contagious disease. Right now, you can find comfort, encouragement, inspiration and healing.

Many people want to know how to maintain a mental balance during unstable times. When the world-wide pandemic rolled on with seemingly no immediate end in sight, there was a feeling that it was getting harder to keep one’s spirits up day-after-day. Isolation blurred time, merging one day into another and dampening spirits. As work, schooling, social, and travel restrictions were imposed, staying mentally and emotionally positive was quite a challenge.
How to navigate the road to normality in uncertain times. It’s a daunting question – especially when daily life as we know it has been turned on its head. We wonder if we’ll ever get back to something resembling “our” normal. Yet a sense of normality at home, school or work is still present, and is thus still possible to achieve.
